A reading purpose comes first
We choose people and organizations through material they explain, build or contribute to: investigations, research, software, product arguments and culture. A topic groups different reading tasks. Its card gives a reason to read, a first material and a starting point. Profiles add selected works, project context and public references.
Inclusion is an editorial decision. The list is not exhaustive or a representative sample of an industry. Follower totals, an alleged trading return or a community mention do not establish identity, expertise or the value of an investment.
One profile across different subjects
A profile has a stable page and identifier. The same account can appear in several subjects, ecosystems and platform editions, with a reason written for that setting. A handle can change; an explicit alias points to the canonical profile after the identity connection is assessed.
We use public biographies, a person's own site, credited work and project records to connect the profile with its material. A public account description is self-reported context. Editorial inclusion or a Reviewed label is not independent identity verification or ownership confirmation. An organization remains an organization, even when a person speaks for it.
Credit follows the original work
A selected work may be a team paper, jointly maintained project, interview or commentary about someone else's research. Notes retain those distinctions. Selection under a person's profile does not make them the sole author or supply a complete author list. Open the original to read its credits, version and experimental conditions.
A product builder's explanation can be useful while describing their own commercial tools. A dated role or affiliation is historical unless the supporting material establishes its current status. We do not infer a present job from an old paper.
Publication, checking and freezing are different
- Original publication date: when the material was published, where that date is established. An unknown date stays unknown.
- Material checked: the recorded check of a topic's first reading material. It does not change the material's original date.
- Profile sources checked: the recorded check of the references supporting a profile. It does not date every work or establish recent X activity.
- Snapshot frozen: the UTC instant a public reading-map version was captured from the release registry. It is not a new review of all references.
A sharing post, repository change or page update is not substituted for an unknown original publication date. JSON uses null and CSV an empty cell for unknown dates. An older work can be a useful explanation without being the latest setup guide.
What the reference links establish
Profile reference notes describe why a source was used: a biography, a role statement, authorship, a technical explanation or later case context. They are not interchangeable proof for every sentence or linked work. An original and its readable mirror are the same underlying evidence.
A video selected from its publisher's named author, topic description or chapters is not automatically a watched or transcribed recording. A research comparison applies to the model, equipment and setup reported by its authors. Notes preserve those access and scope limits.
Linked wallets and community scores
Where a profile shows a linked wallet, the association does not independently establish beneficial ownership, a complete portfolio or current holdings. It is separate from the reading selection. The reading-map export contains no wallet addresses or attribution evidence.
Community thumbs count accepted browser votes. The displayed score also has an editorial starting value; it is not a verified review, expertise measurement or performance record. Votes and scores are excluded from the reference dataset.
A fixed reference you can cite
The reading map offers human-readable notes and fixed JSON/CSV versions. Stable profile IDs and work-URL IDs join the tables; a shared work can have different profile-specific notes. Topic routes preserve the recorded first URL and explicit reading-version or section aliases.
Downloads contain XFollowList's editorial notes and public reference links, not copies of third-party articles or research. Linked works retain their own rights. CSV cells beginning with spreadsheet formula syntax are prefixed with an apostrophe; JSON preserves the text.
Corrections remain traceable
A current profile or reading selection can be corrected as evidence changes. A published dated snapshot keeps its original bytes and recorded dates; a revised dataset receives a new version. The current profile link and fixed snapshot citation serve different reading needs.
Keep the precise profile, work or source URL when identifying an error, together with the public material that supports the correction. Source checks, listing inclusion and provider activity reviews are separate decisions; changing a reading note does not fabricate a new activity check.
