Explains contract failures through code, threat models and the practical decisions made during incident response.
Why read Mudit Gupta?
Mudit's MISO account shows how two components can work separately yet fail together. A batching function reused the payment context, allowing the auction to count the same ETH repeatedly. Start with that small example, then read how the response team weighed a rescue against closing the auction. It connects a code-level error to the people and permissions needed to contain it.
His written auditing notes offer a way to approach a new codebase: understand its purpose, map the actors, identify where value moves and review from each actor's perspective. Read these notes before another incident analysis so you have questions to carry into the code. They accompany a short educational stream and do not present its sampled contracts as fully audited.

A peek inside the MISO war room – $350m incident response story
Begin with The Bug and The learnings, then follow the response options. The repeated msg.value example makes the danger of composing otherwise reasonable components concrete.
