Durov gives you the original wording behind Telegram-related product announcements. His April 2026 TON post separates an upgrade he says has happened from a fee reduction he describes as the next step. That makes it useful when a short announcement is being repeated as a much larger roadmap claim.
His 2020 essay explains Telegram's decision to stop its original TON project in his own words. Read that historical account alongside the later announcement to understand why the original Telegram project and subsequent TON development need their own timelines.
